Fazioli Art Case: Design Pianos Available to Order
Alongside the standard polished black finish, Fazioli also builds its grand pianos in special designs called “Art Case”. In these design pianos, the sound and mechanics are the same as the base model; what changes is the case’s material, finish, decoration and form. The designs below can be ordered today; each has its own page with details and photos.
Custom Designs Available to Order
For all Fazioli grand piano models, see the Fazioli Grand Pianos page. For all one-off and archive designs, take a look at the Fazioli Inspiration Gallery.
Inspiration Gallery: One-off Design Pianos
In the Inspiration Gallery, we have gathered the one-off pianos Fazioli has made for a particular space or client, together with archive designs no longer in the current catalogue. These pianos are not reproduced exactly; however, they are a good starting point for developing a design of your own with similar materials and ideas.
Steingraeber Design Pianos
Steingraeber & Söhne in Bayreuth builds its grand and upright pianos to order in case styles such as Liszt, Renaissance or Baroque, with more than a hundred wood types and three lacquer options.
Exotic Wood, White and Custom-Coloured Design Pianos
Not every design piano needs an entirely new form. Fazioli models can also be ordered in exotic wood veneers such as Macassar, walnut burl and tamo, or in polished white and custom colours. In this way, the piano blends with the furniture, flooring and lighting of the space, while the quality of sound and touch remains unchanged.
Modern and Transparent Design Pianos: Exxeo, Gary Pons and Lucid
Some brands completely reinterpret the form of the piano. Exxeo is a hybrid piano with a carbon-fibre body and aluminium and leather details, developed by a team with a background in automotive design; with its built-in battery and speaker system, it is made in limited numbers to order. In Gary Pons transparent grand pianos, the acrylic case makes the workings of the action visible; some models have integrated LED lighting. Lucid is known for sculptural, customisable designs such as Hive and Exo.
These models are presented in detail at Lux of Art, our family’s luxury design piano brand: Lux of Art design pianos.
A Design Piano Made Just for You
If the design you are looking for is not in the catalogue, we can develop it together. A motif specific to your hotel’s name or your brand, corporate colours or a design you have drawn: materials, finish and production time are assessed together with the manufacturer. Steingraeber’s Utzon piano, completed by Jan Utzon from sketches by his father, the architect Jørn Utzon, and housed in Bagsværd Church, is a fine example of this approach.
Design Pianos for Hotels and Restaurants
In a hotel lobby, restaurant or bar, a piano shapes both the atmosphere and the prestige of the space. We choose the right model together according to the size and acoustics of the space, and plan delivery and installation. A self-playing system can be fitted so that the piano plays music even when there is no pianist; for details, see the piano player system page. In busy venues, regular tuning and maintenance keep the piano sounding as it did on day one.
The Fairmont and Shangri-La examples are selected from Fazioli’s hotel projects around the world; they give an idea of how a design specific to your space could take shape.
Design Pianos for Yachts
On a yacht, a piano is part of its owner’s personal style. On boats where space is limited, compact grand models come to the fore; Fazioli’s smallest grand piano, the Fazioli F156, offers a full sound despite its size. Humidity, securing and transport conditions are assessed together before installation; the finish and colour can be chosen to match the yacht’s interior.
