Excellent sound quality thanks to the unique VISCOUNT PM (Physical Modelling) technology and accurate response of the keyboard, combined in a portable instrument of the highest quality.

The Legend ’70s is a very original series of digital piano instruments characterised by a few special features. According to the general style of the Legend series, Viscount has designed these products in a “retro aesthetic” way, without giving up the most advanced features required by a modern instrument. Physis, the exclusive patented physical modelling technology, provides the sound generation, while the control interface offers many direct controls as well as a convenient display for programming. Series models feature different precision weighted keyboards, while dedicated sound modules allow you to customise the instrument to your current or future needs. The new Legend 70’s offers the ability to uniquely customise your instrument with several Sound Modules equipped with state-of-the-art Sound Generators, including physical modelling.

KEYPAD

The design of LEGEND’s 70s Hammer Action Keyboard perfectly matches the instrument’s sound generators. The 3 contact sensors under each key can detect the corresponding movement with the highest precision.

For more demanding musicians, LEGEND’s 70’s Artisit-W also offers the keyboard a staggered hammer arrangement where their weight becomes lighter. In addition, as with the traditionald stabilised wood to eliminate any imperfections or deformations and ensure maximum uniformity and stability over time.

SOUND REPRODUCTION

Each module fitted to LEGEND’s 70s piano has its own sound generator specifically designed to reproduce its own set of sounds. This arrangement gives a great advantage over the polyphony of the entire instrument and avoids the “sound generator processor sharing” that affects all competitors of sampled pianos when many sounds are played simultaneously.

The ACOUSTIC PIANO and SOUND COLLECTION modules are powered by HDS (High Resolution Sampling) technology, characterised by detailed sampling of acoustic instruments and the ability to reproduce the full dynamic range of each instrument.

The ELECTRIC PIANO and CLAVI modules are powered by Viscount’s patented Physical Modelling (PM) technology, which, through complex mathematical algorithms, is able to reproduce with absolute accuracy the dynamic and physical-acoustic phenomena of the electric piano, giving you the most expressive and authentic experience ever made. Experienced musicians know very well that almost all pianos on the market that use sampling technology suffer from the “Slicing Problem” because they use the same sample for specific key groups and dynamic range! This approach causes an annoying timbre discontinuity. Viscount PM technology does not have this problem, because the sound for each key and dynamic level is perfectly calculated through the precise mathematical modelling of the actual instrument.

Modules can be easily placed and switched on the front panel according to your personal music needs. Each Module has its own SOUND Generator to produce its own sound.
