Semi-Concert Piano

This is a concert piano through and through, designed for professionals, and was introduced in 2008 as a sister model to the E-272. – Its frame-like design clearly reflects its heritage: sound-reflecting reflex chambers, a symmetrical form and a carefully engineered resonance base ensure a cantabile tone and a wide dynamic range, spanning from the softest pppp to the most energetic ffff.

With its 46-tonne capos, the Caposu can extend beyond the centre of the keyboard, thereby achieving the greatest possible volume whilst demonstrating its uniqueness on the global piano market with its ‘greater brilliance and resonance’: 42 tones are secured by hooks! It is an ideal piano for medium-sized auditoriums and for soloists and chamber concertos – the most famous venue where the D-232 is currently housed is Bagsværd Church in Copenhagen, which was designed by Jørn Utzon (the architect who designed the Sydney Opera House), a master of 20th-century architecture, and for which Steingraeber specially designed the D-232.
